About

What is Having “Me” Time all about?

Having “Me” Time is a compilation of stories, thoughts, fitness tips and travel logs of a girl who once was chubby (very chubby) and lost weight.    After having lost 15kgs (33lbs) during 2009-2010 my friends and colleagues kept asking me for the “secret” to my success.   I had undergone a transformation and changed in more ways than one.  Having always been the “chubby” girl for over three decades, this blog was initially started to inspire those around me to live a healthier life and to experience the joys that come with having a healthier body and a healthier lifestyle.

Since then, this blog has evolved to include reviews on food, travels and experiences that, for me, are food for the soul.  Travels include trips to various countries around the world ranging from Egypt, Austria, to Southeast Asian countries as Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.

In my mid-forties, I have now returned to academia to follow my dream of doing a PhD and am now working on my DPhil (ox speak for PhD) at the University of Oxford.  It is definitely one of the most rewarding decisions I have ever made and so grateful for this opportunity. It is truly a wonderful experience.

Follow me on my journey through life and I hope that through my writings, I can inspire you to have a little “me” time. Take “time-out” for yourself, enjoy all that life has to offer for we only get one chance at life.  Eat, Exercise, Travel, Experience and Feed Your Soul.

I also went through a similar experience in 2010 and can completely relate to what you mean about transforming, and the change in your life and out look. I feel very inspired by your blog and really look forward to reading it further! X
