When I was young, there used to be a show on TV entitled “You Are What You Eat” and its a phrase that has since stuck around in my head. What it means is that to be fit and healthy you need to eat food that is good for you.
I believe that being healthy is a matter of lifestyle. It’s not something you just adopt for a couple of days and then decide to discontinue. It is a matter of choice. To be healthy, it is most important to eat foods that nourish you and are beneficial for you.
Many people who work long hours and have hectic schedules may find themselves short of time and end up anything that is quick and easy. Sometimes they revert to “junk food” that is easy to eat and tasty, with little awareness of the effects of these foods on their body. Overtime, these unhealthy habits may be detrimental to your body and cause your weight to increase as well as your cholesterol level, or even have an increased risk of heart disease to name a few.
Eating healthy is not only good for your body but also for your mind. With healthy foods you will find out that you can think more clearly and have more energy. So my advice is if you want to work more, work more effectively, and have a healthy life without illness then you should eat healthy. Choose what you eat. Don’t eat just anything just because it is lying around or because it tastes good!!! Eat foods that are nutritious such as fruits and vegetables! 🙂

what should i eat to give me more energy in the afternoon but will not fill me up too much to get sleepy?
If you are hungry in the afternoon, you can try having some fruits. Apples and bananas are great as the fiber fills you up quickly whilst also giving you energy. 0% fat yogurt or even cottage cheese is something I also like to eat. Nuts and seeds are another choice. Although nuts such as peanuts or almonds may be high in fat, but it is monounsaturated fat which is a good kind of fat. Just a few nuts will keep you feeling full. As they are high in calories, however, be careful of your portion size.Wholegrain products such as crackers or wholegrain pretzels are also good if you crave something salty. Becareful of the granola bars or muesli bars, as some may have a lot of added sugar! Read the labels carefully 😀 Happy Snacking!
